Easter At Cowplain Church

Easter Services In Waterlooville

Chocolate and Easter Bunnies?

What does Easter mean to you? Is it just about chocolate eggs and Easter bunnies, or are you curious about the deeper meaning behind this special holiday?

At our church, we believe Easter is about so much more than just sweet treats. It's a time to reflect on the profound message of hope and renewal that Easter brings – the story of Jesus' resurrection and the promise of new life.

If you're interested in discovering the real reason behind Easter and exploring its significance in a welcoming and inclusive community, we invite you to join us. Let's journey together to uncover the true essence of Easter and celebrate the joy and hope it offers to us all.

Because Jesus Was Never Meant To Stay Dead

Easter is a powerful testament to the unfathomable love of Jesus Christ—a love that led Him to endure the agony of the cross, knowing that His sacrifice was never meant to be the end of the story.

His resurrection on that glorious morning shattered the chains of death, proclaiming victory over sin and offering the promise of eternal life to all who believe.

As we gather to celebrate Easter, we rejoice in the truth that Jesus’ sacrifice was the ultimate expression of love, paving the way for us to experience redemption, forgiveness, and the hope of a life that transcends the grave.

Good Friday Service - 10am
Good Friday Service - 10am

On the 29th of March at 10am, we will join together and reflect on Jesus’s great sacrifice. It’s a service where we can worship the God who created us and the God who sacrificed his one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins.

John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

We will start at 10am with worship and open the Word as we look at this Great Sacrifice. We will then end with Communion and worship.

Easter Sunday Service - 10am
Easter Sunday Service - 10am

On the 31st of March at 10am, we can celebrate the victory of Easter Sunday! A stone was rolled and out rose Jesus, the Great Saviour who died and rose again for our sake.

Luke 24:6 says it best: “He is not here; he has risen!”

We invite you to join us on Easter Sunday at Cowplain Church as we celebrate this great truth! The Son of God, risen and alive so that we may find joy in relationship with God. We will spend the morning worshipping and in the Word, whilst children go out to their groups.

Is there any public transport to Cowplain Church?

There are a few ways to get to us!

If you’re taking the bus, there is a bus stop just 2 minute walk from the church, called ‘Cowplain Shops’. The First number 8 bus stops there every 20 minutes. You can find the timetable here.

If you’re taking the train, there is a train station in Havant, about 4.5 miles from the church. There is a bus that runs from Havant to Weacock, which is then a short walk to the church.

We recommend checking bus and train timetables before coming.

If you’re cycling, we have a few bike racks outside the church for you to use at your need.

I've never been to church before, is that okay?

Of course it is! That’s so exciting that you’re thinking of coming.

Our Good Friday and Easter Sunday services are for those who have never been before, so we explain all you need to know every time for those who aren’t sure. We won’t ask you to come to the stage or stand up and introduce yourself either- don’t worry!

If you need a Bible, pen, coffee, tea, water- we’ve got it all! Bible’s are at the Information Desk as you come in for you to use, pens are in the chairs and refreshments are served at the end of the service.

You don’t have to raise your hands in worship or know the words to the songs to come along. Church is a place to meet Jesus, you don’t need to worry about ‘knowing what to do’.

If you would like to speak to the Pastor to ask more questions about Easter, please ring him on 023 9226 2188.

Yes, of course! We love welcoming children into the church. We have 3 groups that run on a Sunday morning, for those from 0-15 years old. Please note that there are no Children clubs on Good Friday, but the Creche will be open if your children get a bit fidgety!

Our groups are run by friendly, kind people, so your child(ren) will feel comfortable in their care.
