Our 6.30pm Discipleship Service is our teaching service for those who want to grow in their knowledge and of the Bible and grow deeper in their faith. The style of teaching is Expository, going through a book of the Bible verse by verse.

Please Note: We don’t offer any activities for children and young people during our Discipleship Services.

You will be welcomed at the door by one of our welcome team. They will hand you a bulletin which gives information about the week ahead and other activities at CEC. The welcome team are there to help you in anyway, just ask. As you come into the main church building there will be music playing and a relaxed atmosphere and you can sit any where you like.

We would love you to join us for refreshments before the service. Refreshments are served from the kitchen hatch between 6pm and 6.20pm.

Worship is led by our team of musicians and the person who is leading the service. All our worship songs and hymns are projected onto a big screen at the front. Various notices and information will be on the screen. A 5 minute countdown will then start indicating that the service is about to begin. The person leading the service will explain things as the service progresses.

Our worship in the evening is more relaxed and often we have an extended time of worship. We sing a mix of modern songs and well known hymns with the aim to help us focus on God and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

You will be given an outline when you arrive. These are slightly different to our morning service. There is more space for you to make your own notes as you listen to the speaker. Again we encourage people to do this as it will help you retain the message longer as well as allowing God to nudge you to write down something that has struck you from the message. Like the morning, the main points and Bible verses are also projected onto the main screen.

Our Pastor will often speak in the evening, but also so will some of our elders. The messages are deeper and are preached as an exposition of the passage. We tend to go through a book of the Bible in greater detail looking at the context and theological concepts as well as looking at how the text applies to our lives today. The messages will help you understand a book of the Bible better as well as how to live out the truths that we learn in our daily lives. CDs and DVDs of past messages are available to order (free of charge) from the Information Desk, or download them from the website, or find them on YouTube.

Communion is celebrated twice a month, usually at the first Sunday evening Discipleship Service and the third Sunday morning Discovery Service. Gluten free bread is available from the Information Desk.

Prayer is available for everyone and anyone after each of our worship services. God may have spoken to you during the message, or you have had a tough week, or you have something on your heart and you would like someone to pray for you. Our prayer team is available to do that. Simply go to the back of the church (the row in front of the PA desk) after the morning or evening service and a member of the prayer team will be there to pray with you.
